KINDERGARTEN TRANSITION FOR CHILDREN COMMENCING CLEMTON PARK PUBLIC SCHOOL IN 2014.

To introduce you and your child to our school and to give your child an opportunity to spend some time in a Kindergarten classroom, we are holding three transition sessions.

The first session will be held on Wednesday 4th September. After taking their child to the kindergarten rooms and collecting their information folder parents will meet in the school hall. Mrs Lapi will speak about readiness for school. The P&C president will outline the role of the P&C. Current Kinder students will model the various school uniforms and you will find an order form in your package. The session will conclude with morning tea supplied by 2013 Kindergarten parents. Session ends 11 a.m.

The second transition session will be held on Wednesday 11th September. This session will give parents an overview of staff and programs including the school counsellor service, ESL, Library and Technology programs. Student representatives from our Student Representative Council (SRC) and Environmental Support Team (EST) will explain the role of these groups in the school. We will talk about the development of Early Literacy. This will be followed by a tour of the school led by our school prefects. Session ends 11 a.m.

The third and final session will be held on Wednesday 18th September. In this session the kindergarten supervisor will outline the kindergarten academic program including explaining Best Start. Colleen Barclay will explain how to help your child to be safe around school. We will then be entertained by a performance by 2013 Kindergarten children. The School Band will conclude this year’s transition sessions with a short concert in the school hall. Session ends 11 a.m.

Please remember no child can be enrolled without evidence of the birth date being produced. If we have not seen your child’s birth certificate, a passport or the computer record of Registration of Birth, we cannot enrol him/her. We also require a copy of the NSW Health Department Immunisation Certificate. An immunisation certificate can be obtained from Medicare.

We look forward to caring for your child at our school and to meeting with you on our Transition Days!
